- Tell us more about the product?
Our Cyber SME product extends beyond the conventional 1st and 3rd party solution. We were intentional in our approach to ensure that we do not merely create a product for SME’s but rather give new meaning to the term “XaaS” Everything as a service. Simply put, we provide an end to end service to the SME’s of South Africa by allowing our potential clients to acquire vulnerability scans pre and post inception, in this way clients can better understand their exposures. But we didn’t stop there. We partnered with a suite of Risk Management Providers which takes the client on a Cyber Security Journey with us, creating value by adding extra layers of protection using MyCyberDNA and also creating the world’s first personal Cyber Security Score dashboard and tools designed to understand their cyber security risks. This way Cyber Security becomes an innate building block in the clients DNA. We however understand that Information is the most valuable asset in Cyber trends today which is why we assist our clients by providing deep dark web monitoring and protection all at the click of a button.
- If not answered already, why do you believe a product like this is critical, especially during a time like this?
In a world that appears to turn on a technological axis, the scourge of cybercrime is a dominant concern. Even businesses that don’t store confidential information may have exposures through the operating systems that drive their manufacturing and distribution operations. As previously indicated our product not only drives proper risk management and awareness but also aims to cultivate a security mindset and facilitate support prior to inception. Cybercrime is inevitable in a connected world and having a product of this nature which plugs in various services, enables a better informed and secure client.
- Can you give us some stats or examples of cyber attacks and how this product would be relevant?
Data from our Annual Risk Review reveals that 37% of the respondents reported suffering a breach in the past 12 months. With the implementation of the POPI Act effective July 2021 business will now have to communicate such breaches to the clients. This has far reaching consequences for businesses not only from an operations perspective but also a reputation element. With the Cyber SME policy, our clients can tap into our suite of services that will facilitate and support them during this time; from data recovery; to notifications expenses and most importantly addressing the reputation element, by which the SME predominantly conducts their business.
- How does this offering service the needs of clients ?
We must be cognisant of the digital culture that is brewing, the reality is that SME’s are required to adopt such a culture or face disruption. For our clients this offering enables SME’s to focus on their future-fit strategies whilst we do the heavy lifting. Be it a start-up company or a medium sized enterprise, we have uniquely designed our offering with services that speak to our client’s individual needs from merely acquiring anti-virus to understanding and providing dark web monitoring. SME’s are the lifeblood of the South African economy and as such it is our duty to ensure that we facilitate the growth and expansion of these enterprises.
- Why should intermediaries use this product and how is it any different to any other offering in the market?
